Practical prepping without fear.
Prepare Now is an AidWorkers initiative being built as a global public-interest preparedness resource: calm enough to use today, clear enough to use under pressure, and inclusive enough to serve real communities.
Part of AidWorkers
Prepare Now extends the work of AidWorkers.com, an independent humanitarian information and support platform focused on aid workers, crisis response, practical action and communities affected by conflict, famine, displacement, disaster, disease and poverty.
That relationship gives this project a humanitarian purpose and an accountability framework, not a survivalist or hobbyist identity. Read more about AidWorkers' mission and governance.
Our purpose
Help people reduce preventable harm, protect health and dignity, support one another and recover more effectively from disruption. The work begins with water resilience and household planning, then expands through a reviewed, evidence-linked publishing programme.
Our principles
- Calm over fear: describe risk honestly without sensationalism.
- Action over shopping: useful preparation starts with decisions, relationships and existing resources.
- Inclusion by default: disability, age, health, language, culture, poverty and care are core planning concerns.
- Evidence in view: show sources, jurisdictions, review dates and uncertainty.
- Access under strain: build for weak connections, old devices, keyboards, screen readers, printing and offline use.
Current status
This is an early foundation for review. Research and historical recovery are underway, and high-stakes safety content will move through professional editorial and subject-matter review before the full public launch.
